Paros

The Lowdown

Located in the heart of the Aegean Sea, Paros is considered to be one of the most popular islands of the Cyclades. Known for its romantic views, blue-domed churches, and its traditional villages, Paros is the perfect start to your Cyclades adventure. But that’s not all, get swooned and hypnotized with its whitewashed house and blue doors, plus its famous beaches with breathtaking sunsets.

Where to Visit While in Paros

  • Known for its famous beaches with cerulean and clear waters, Golden beach is a hit for those who enjoy to windsurfing. But if you’re more into relaxing and all about that tan, Kolymbithres beach will do the magic. Rent a paddleboat and succumb into the Aegean waters and paddle away to the nearest shore.
  • For a romantic evening, Naoussa is a don’t-miss for delicious bubbly drinks and the ultimate Mediterranean dish. And if perhaps a romantic walk is your thing, visit the village’s magical streets with small and compact stores for an all-Greek evening.
  • Spend a day at Parikia, also known as Paros’ main port. With cobbled paths, blue and white churches, friendly locals, and small shops, Parikia is popular for great seafood restaurants.
  • If you’re much of an explorer, take a daily trip to Antiparos. (We heard Tom Hanks has a house there, really.)

Naxos

The Lowdown

Being the biggest island of the Cyclades and known for its fertile landscape, Naxos is popular for its mountains, archeological gems and long stretched beaches. Producer of olives, grapes, citrus, corn and potato Naxos also offers dreamy and picturesque villages for a day trip.

  • Visit its castle where it also shares the Archeological Museum of Naxos with a medieval atmosphere.

Koufonisia

The Lowdown

Being a trio of islands, Koufonisia mothers Pano Koufonisi (main island), Kato Koufonisi and Keros. Its main island, Pano, offers a tranquil vacation with a turquoise body of water and crystal clear views. But don’t be fooled by its peaceful vibe because Pano offers fun taverns to dine at, activities and relaxing areas.
