When the IMF mission ends badly the world is faced with dire consequences so who will save us? Ethan Hunt is chased by would be assassins and his former allies when he sets out to prevent a global catastrophe.
Filmed on location all over the World – from Europe to India to New Zealand – the scenery is stunning: the views of the mountains are simply breathtaking. And the scenes that were shot in Paris and London are so real that you actually feel that you are there!
And the action is amazing. As you hold your breath because Ethan Hunt is dangling from a rope which is hanging from a helicopter you have just one reaction: how on earth is he going to survive this? You want him saved – of course you do – but the survival of the Earth also depends on him.
And the film is tense and edge of your seat terror because you need him to save the planet we live on – but there is another dimension to your adrenaline levels. How on earth did they film these scenes? It must have involved levels of danger that we can hardly bear to think about!
Ethan is the leader of the IMF – Impossible Mission Force. And of course he has female characters alongside – beautiful women as cool as cucumber and always looking immaculate. Ethan Hunt, as one character wryly observes, is the “same old Ethan.”
Tom Cruise is joined by Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin and Sean Harris as they return to their roles. And in addition we see Henry Cavill, Wes Bentley, Vanessa Kirby, Sian Brooke and Angela Bassett.
Produced and directed by Christopher Mc Quarrie – the first person to direct more than one film in the franchise. In the words of Paramount’s executive Rob Moore, “There has to be another movie.” And this one promises to be even more thrilling: As Tom Cruise himself has said, “We’ve upped the ante.”
