SHANGRI-LA HOTEL DOHA’S SIGNATURE RESTAURANT IS TAKING CHINESE GASTRONOMY TO A GREATER HEIGH
Shanghai Club celebrate “The Best Chinese”award and launches new menu
Doha’s dining scene is going through a boom and Shanghai Club is playing a major role in revitalising the city. Recently awarded as The Best Chinese 2018 and Dim Sum Brunch as the favourite brunch at Fact Dining Awards 2018, the restaurant is launching a new exciting menu this week.
Residents, visitors and foodies alike will delight in the refreshing flavours and tantalising Chinese dishes. Long-standing favourites are still on the menu, including the famous Pecking Duck, the Fortune Chicken and the signature Duck Handbags. These popular dishes have been joined by new options including Chicken Cha Siu Bao, Shanghai’s Hand Pulled Noodles new flavours and Matuan, a dessert that symbolises the family together around the table enjoying a meal. It’s delicious sesame balls with red beans filling and full of love.
Launched in October 2016, Shangri-La Hotel Doha’s signature Chinese restaurant is its crowning glory, located on levels 43 and 44. Asian elements and a playful sensibility define the restaurant’s design, from the massive bas-relief dragon on the wall to the colour-changing chandelier, a representation of the Great Wall of China, all complemented by the spectacular views of the city.
Selected by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine as one of the best 10 restaurants in Qatar, Shanghai Club also won Best Chinese Restaurant in Qatar 2017 by Luxury Travel Guide Award and The Best Newcomer at the 7th annual Time Out Doha Restaurants Awards 2017.
Alex Willats, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel Doha said: “We are extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish at Shanghai Club since its opening one and a half years ago. I would like to thank Qatar’s residents and our loyal guests who have made this happen. We continually strive to bring authentic and exquisite Chinese cuisine to them.”
The kitchen proudly boasts a 100% Chinese team led by five master chefs. Guests can glimpse a noodle-pulling performance while bartenders create Asian-inspired drinks with unique twists of flavours from the Jing tea selection.
Shanghai Club’s restaurant is open throughout the week for dinner 6:30 -11:30PM and offers its Dim Sum brunch on Fridays 12:30-4PM.
Shanghai Club’s Lounge Bar is open from 5:30PM – 1AM on weekdays and 2AM on weekends (except Sunday).
